Happy 238th Birthday America! And Happy 4th of July everybody! Today’s the day where we all get to kick back, relax, throw something delicious on the grill and enjoy the warm summer sun until the night comes its’ light is replaced by the crackling aura of fireworks. It’s one of our favorite holidays. So, in honor of America and barbeques we’ve decided to put together a list of our favorite Independence Day recipes, enjoy!
1. Melt In Your Mouth BBQ Ribs
The only thing that might be more American than BBQ ribs is a cowboy, dressed as a bald eagle and wrangling cattle all while he’s nomming on a bacon burger. Don’t believe me? Just turn on Food Network after 10pm (any day of the week) and I guarantee you that at least one of the dives has an impressive recipe for ribs. And, not that we have eaten at many of the dive’s Guy Fieri has been to on his show, we believe that this recipe would stack up against any of the barbeque places on the show. That’s how good these ribs are. So check out this recipe, grab some back ribs and let your barbecuing do the talking.
2. Independence Day Pancakes
Everybody always looks forward to the barbecuing part of the day. So much so that people often forget about the most important meal of the day! Breakfast. That’s why we’ve thrown in this Independence Day pancake recipe because there’s no better way to start your day than with the red white and blue. Normal white flour pancakes are stacked between red velvet pancakes to form a nine layer tower of Americana that’s topped with a handful of blueberries. Ad some maple syrup and you have a truly delicious way to start your 4th of July.
3. Brownie & Fruit Kebabs
I tried these for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was blown away by how good they were and how easy they were to prepare. There are no fancy steps, no insanely difficult prep work that would require someone from Cake Boss to make sure everything was working properly. No, here you can transition easily from the barbeque to a dessert that takes after the barbeque classic, kebabs. Just bake the brownies, spear them on the kebab with strawberries, blueberries and marshmallows and you’ll find yourself with the makings of a fine dessert. We hope these recipes give you some inspiration for the 4th and, from everyone here at Fat Guy, we’d like to wish you a very happy Independence Day! Cheers!
