Bad Web Design can offer a good laugh, unless it happens to your site. Then it is not funny. Getting a website redesign can be an exciting and rewarding experience; when it is done right. When things go wrong, they can go really wrong. But with little web experience or understanding you may not know how to fix it (if you can fix it), or even if the website is not performing at the levels that you expected it to. Who wants a bad web design? That’s why we have included a few steps that you can follow to first, identify if you have a problem, how to fix the problem and (if you cannot fix the problem) what you can do from there.
What’s the Issue?
Bad Web Design goes beyond the overall design of the site as we expect you will be able to identify what you wanted and what you did not want. What you may not be able to identify is how well your website is working (unless you notice your bottom line has not changed much). So if you are not getting the data to track your site there are still ways to test your sites functionality. The first thing you can do is pull data about your site from an analytics site (such as Google Analytics) to see if the web redesign has done anything for you. On Google Analytics you can measure everything from monthly page visits to bounce rates. While a high number of page visits is nice they mean almost nothing if you have a high bounce rate. Bounce rates indicate who is leaving your site without converting. If that’s high, you are going to want to think about changing the design and copy on your webpage to attract potential customers. To verify that information, feel free to give out a survey to those customers visiting your site so that you can get real feedback instead of having to decipher what part of your site is driving people away. Is it Bad Web Design?
