Sitting in traffic in the morning may be one of the most frustrating ways to start your day. You might be late for work, you may spill your coffee out of pure frustration and everything may feel like it is slipping out of control. And it all stemmed from one little traffic jam. But, not all forms of traffic are bad; take your website for instance. Driving up traffic on your website is a necessity if you are looking to establish your brand on the Internet. Listed below are a few methods we use to help boost our clients’ presence online through successful social media campaigns.
Know When to Post
Unlike most aspects of marketing, knowing when to post the content you create is more scientific than creative. We will run analytics on your posts (to see when you get the most likes and shares), survey your audience and find times where a majority of your audience will be active online. Imagine us like you would a 1920’s paper boy or newsie. If we were yelling, “EXTRA! EXTRA! READ ALL ABOUT IT!” at two in the morning we probably would not garner much of an audience (in fact we would probably be arrested, why is there a grown man dressed in a newsies costume on a weeknight impersonating a paper boy?). It would be weird. And it is just as weird to post your content at times when your audience is out doing there laundry and not sifting through their social media accounts. So, before we create your social media campaigns for you, we will come up with some data to find out when your audience is most active.
Know Where to Post
Knowing when your audience is active is important but we need to get a little more specific. Your product or services are unique so we will need to find out where your target audience resides. Going back to our paper boy analogy; let’s say you are trying to sell a copy of the Wall Street Journal. Would you head down to the financial district or would you sit around in Williamsburg in Brooklyn? I would guess that you would go to the financial district. Why? Because the paper you are selling will be more relevant to that audience and more people will probably want to buy. Social media works in a similar fashion. You need to know which platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) your potential clients and customers frequent the most. Then it just comes down to converting those leads (which takes a bit of trial and error).
Know How Much to Spend
Like most forms of marketing, you only get what you pay for when it comes to your social media campaigns. We can complement your sites organic reach with paid ads and pay per click in order to boost your presence initially. After your site has had time to grow we will be able to scale back on those paid ads but it will take a while. Paid ads work like the fertilizer you put on your grass in the spring. It ensures that your grass grows faster to start and then you just have to maintain your lawn. Not a bad trade off when you think about the money your site will start bringing in within 6 months to a year. Social media does get a little more intricate than these three steps but it would be impossible to include every bit of information within a blog post.
