Landing Pages: What on Earth are they?

Landing Pages: What on Earth are they?

LAND HO!!! When will the pirate-themed-landing-page-blog references end? Short answer; no time soon. So on that note let’s get talking about landing pages. Look at most digital marketing blogs and you’ll see people telling you how your landing page should function, how it should be designed, but very few of them ever break down what a landing page is. To dispel any confusion we are going to define what a landing page is, what it does and how we can use it to boost conversions on your site.

Shiver me timbers, what’s a landing page and what’s it do?

There are so many definitions out there for landing pages and no real consensus on what qualifies as a landing page and what does not (which leaves us in some pretty murky water). After all, you land on every page you visit so that would pretty much make every page on the Internet a landing page. Luckily there is more to them then just finding a place to land. Hubspot defines landing pages as those pages on the web on which one might land that has a form and exists solely to capture a visitor’s information through that form. So it’s a webpage whose sole purpose is to get information from potential clients and customers. This is an example of a landing page that we designed for our request a consultation. Landing Page

How we will use a landing page to boost your conversion rate

In the end a landing page is just a tool that you have at your disposal and, in the right hands, can become a major asset for your website. When potential customers fill out a form on your landing page they are performing a ‘desired action’ which we call ‘conversions.’ More conversions will lead to better Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Better standing with Google (and other search engines) will increase your visibility, raise your conversion rate and potentially bump up your bottom line. So, if your website is currently missing a landing page you may want to consider a website redesign. Our web team will work hand in hand with you to develop a website that is well designed, suits your needs and increases your visibility on major search engines like Google making your website an asset that will serve your company for years to come.
