4 Reasons You Need a New Website

Don’t let your website keep you from getting and maintaining business. Your website is your online storefront. It is your online representation, the face of your company online. Your website could also be your best salesperson. Having the best website possible will greatly benefit your company in countless ways. The main reasons you need a new website greatly have to do with your visibility, user experience and capabilities Here are 4 reasons you need a new website.

Reasons You Need a New Website

1.      Outdated

If you haven’t updated your site in the last 5 or 10 years there is almost a guarantee you are behind on the times. Think about how much new technology has come out since the time you last updated your website. There are three reasons your site may be outdated. One, if your site is not optimized. Search Engine Optimization is how your site gets picked up by search engines like Google. Google is constantly updating their algorithm for search trying to provide the best content for its customers. Staying on top of what Google is looking for will make you more visible and will save you money in PPC by showing up organically. Second is responsiveness. If you don’t know what it means to have a responsive website design or don’t understand why you need it, check out our blog about responsive web design. Third is if your site isn’t interactive. Yes people will enjoy reading your blogs and social media but if it’s one-sided you are missing out on opportunities to give your customers (or potential customers) a better experience. Remember it is all about the customers.

2.      You and Not Your Customer

If your site is all about you and not all about your customer, you need a new website, because you are using yours wrong. Your site should be all about what you can do for your customer and how you have done it in the past. Don’t say what you could do, show them what you offer and how you have made it work for your current clients. As a consumer, I’m not going to be swayed by the fact that you’ve worked for huge companies in my industry, that doesn’t affect me. I want to know what you’ve done for these companies and how it has helped them. Give tangibles. Show progress.

3.      Catch Up to Competition

Many times you want to stand out from your competition and have your own identity. Other times you need to keep up with industry standards. If your competitor has a shiny new site their other competitors will be sure to follow. It is always better to be ahead of or right behind the leader of the pack. There are no participation awards handed out at the end of the year when it comes to business.

4.      You Are Losing Audience

If you are a restaurant and no one can see your menu on their mobile phone, you are missing out on countless customers. This ties back to the responsiveness of your website design, if I can’t find you or your content is hard to view I will look somewhere else. Your website speaks volumes about your business and how you conduct yourself. Simply put, there are countless results on the internet and consumers go after what is the easiest, both to view and interact with. Although the initial payment for a new website may seem steep in some cases, it is easier to see the ROI with such an investment. For companies that say it will cost a couple hundred dollars think of it this investment like a car. For a couple hundred dollars your car will pull off the lot and it will drive around for a while. Your car will not have longevity, probably won’t be able to handle a large capacity and may have frequent break downs costing you more in the long-run. But won’t you be happy you saved a little bit on the front end? We didn’t think so. There are many cost effective solutions to this, consult with your web design company to better understand your needs.
